FAIK Beats are generated by AI tools that consume enormous amounts of energy, were trained on the work of human artists without their consent, and pose an existential threat to dozens of music-related professions.

I see this harmful consumption as analogous to consuming animals. I eat meat, fully aware of the harms and atrocities of animal slaughter and factory farming. Unlike being a modern-American carnivore, however, AI music does more than satiate a craving and fill me with nutrients. It’s a unique outlet for my lyric writing and creative instincts. Though I grapple with the destructive, divisive nature of generative AI, it fills me with joy on a daily basis.
