KNOCKING, WRITING, CREATING, AND KVETCHING BY BLUE MORENO
Blue Moreno is an organizer, social justice activist, campaign strategist, creative director, storytelling scallywag, recovering narcissist, and diabetic do-gooder.
For 18 years across dozens of states, he’s walked the talk and rung the bell for righteous (lefteous) campaigns and causes. In 2008, he boarded the Hope and Change Express, from Brooklyn to Bucks County. It was there, in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where the canvassing bug bit him. By 2016, Blue’s grassroots buds blossomed into a cross-country grind.
From Bangor to the bayou, he’s knocked in every climate, community, time zone, social strata, and weight class. He believes democracy is a verb, organizing is an art, and talking to voters where they live is vital to our survival.
In 2026, Mr. Moreno served as Senior Strategist for a congressional campaign in The Bronx. Lost badly. Learned bigly.
Most recently, he discovered that writing bios in the third person makes him uncomfortable.
Hi, I’m Blue!
This fall I’m traveling the country once again to train hundreds of organizers and canvass thousands of voters. I’ll be updating my site throughout the journey, with opportunities for campaign newbies and seasoned vols alike to level up their pursuit of good trouble.
Before finding out I carried the gene that causes activism, I was a failing, flailing, career-impaling, multifaceted artist.
I’m a former DJ, screenwriter, actor, rapper, singer, director, music producer, and, for a month and a half in the early aughts, a bon vivant hipster.
My hobbies include lack of sleep, adoring my nieces, and managing NYC’s third-largest stress ball collection. I’m a middle-aged yutz from the mean streets of Bethesda, MD, who proudly reps NYC-DSA and the New York Working Families Party.
I live at the intersection of politics, pop culture, and E. 62nd St.
